In the history of metal watering cans, two different basic shapes have emerged: the English form with a round body, the French form with an oval body. The oval shape is more comfortable to use, as it can be held much closer to the body. In addition, the foldable handle helps create balance when emptying the can or when sprinkling taller plants and means the can takes up little space when stored.
