There is probably no more versatile material than wood. What we make from it is a sign of our responsibility towards nature. There are no fewer than 70,000 types of wood on earth; we present both native and exotic species that are suitable for arts and crafts applications. The woods on offer are not subject to species protection. Solid wood has distinctly anisotropic properties due to its growth, i.e. it shrinks unevenly in different directions as it dries; it also has a fibre structure. This must be taken into account when designing the pieces as well as during processing and storage. Only the right surface treatment can bring out its full beauty. We use natural agents, shellac, oils and waxes that harmonise perfectly with this natural material.
In our range you will find wood for turning, knife making and carving. Woods for instrument making can be found in our music catalogue.
