»Hunter« Knife-making Set, incl. Leather Sheath
With this knife kit, you can create your own hunting knife that is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. The blade is largely pre-finished and comes with a hand guard for added safety. The sturdy, handmade cowhide sheath has a belt loop and is decorated with a punched pattern along the seam. The knife handle is made of desert ironwood, one of the world's hardest and densest timbers. It has a golden-brown hue with dark streaks and a yellowish sapwood. Its habitat extends from Arizona to the border areas of Mexico. It polishes nicely, is very hard and durable, so lends itself to making knife handles. The brass rod serves as a secure connection between handle material and blade. Epoxy adhesive, e.g. No. 450379, is recommended for glueing the handle materials.
Traditional Damascus Blades and Blanks
These beautifully crafted blades made of 192-layered Damascus steel come from the Indus Valley. For excellent performance, low-alloy carbon steel 1095 and nickel steel 15N20 are fire-welded. The blades are etched and hardened to 60 HRC but not completely sharpened. You just add the handle scales and sharpen the blade. Handmade, so there may be slight dimensional deviations. Not rustproof.
