The serrated blade with a cutting angle of 70° striates the wood surface. By planing crosswise, you can smooth even the most gnarly wood with this plane. The individual teeth on the cutting edge cut the wood fibres more easily and prevent tearout. This plane is also ideal for preparing wood surfaces to provide a better grip for glue. Tried-and-tested cabinetmaker’s planes from traditional German manufacturer Emmerich. Unless otherwise stated, the soles are made of extremely wear-resistant lignum vitae wood, whose self-lubricating effect ensures a smooth sliding action. The blade angle and thus the cutting angle is 50° (except toothing plane).
