Japanese Planes (Kanna)
Surfaces planed with a Kanna reveal the wood’s natural beauty in its purest form. Kanna are simple tools reduced to the essential function of a plane. The double-layered forged, tapered blade is several times thicker than that of a European plane and therefore ensures a smooth, vibration-free cut. The cap also serves as the chipbreaker.
The plane is ready for immediate use – the razor-sharp blade allows precise work right from the start. Detailed instructions for use and care, as well as guidance on the traditional setup of a Kanna, are included. Unless otherwise specified, the blade angle is 40°.
