Planishing Hammer, Lower Part

Description

In blacksmithing or art forging, the original rough shape of the workpiece is often subsequently reworked in a red-hot state to eliminate unwanted structural irregularities. The planishing hammer is used to smooth the forged surfaces and to align knife blades, for example. The lower part of the planishing hammer is inserted into the anvil’s square hardy hole (25 x 25 mm) and ensures an exactly flat surface and precise alignment. Ground face: 70 x 70 mm.
