Walnut Oil, 250 ml

Description

The only hardening nut oil

Made from 100 % Californian walnuts, food grade, this is the only nut oil suitable for painting and surface protection. Other types of nuts yield non-drying oils. In terms of both its chemical structure as well as its properties, walnut kernel oil stands between linseed oil and poppy seed oil, but somewhat closer to the latter. This also applies to its only light colouring The significantly shorter drying time than that of poppy seed oil and the strikingly low tendency to yellowing, in addition to its low viscosity and high pigment absorption capacity, are most likely the reasons why this oil is not only praised in old Italian painters' books, but was also traditionally very popular with the Dutch and Germans. Ideal for handicraft objects, woodturning objects, toys, kitchen furniture and kitchen utensils. Its grip also makes it ideal for knife and tool handles and, together with pigments, for the production of high-quality colour oils and artists' colours.
