Description
Natural Urushi colour - easy to process
Discover the power of nature for your wood surfaces. Urushi oil is characterised by balanced properties in terms of colour intensity, drying time, durability, hardness and ease of application. Application:
The surface must be clean and free from old coatings. The final sanding should be done with at least 150 grit. Shake or stir the Urushi oil well before use. Directly after application, the colour tone darkens slightly and then slowly fades after curing. This colour change is considered a purely natural drying and curing process. After a penetration time of about ten minutes, wipe off excess Urushi oil with a lint-free cloth. Preferably use at temperatures above 16 °C and humidity above 60 %. Bear in mind that at lower humidity levels, drying times will be longer. Depending on the absorbency of the surface, the consumption is 20-40 ml/m² per application. The coverage is around 35 m²/litre. Determine the exact consumption on the respective workpiece. Depending on wood moisture, ambient temperature and humidity, drying takes between six and twelve hours. The second coat is applied after at least one day. Curing takes about seven days. During application and drying, ensure good ventilation.
Naturit Urushi oil has been tested for chemical resistance for indoor use in accordance with DIN 68861 and has been tested for migration behaviour in accordance with DIN EN 71-3.
