Description
The nocturnal with tide calculator is produced according to historical models in a small metal workshop in Spain. The first surviving applications of the nocturnal date back to the 13th century. In the Renaissance period, the nocturnal star clock served to reliably determine the hours of the night with the help of fixed stars, which can only be seen in the northern hemisphere. The tide calculator finds its origin in ancient seafaring, and was indispensable for navigating through unknown waters. In order to determine the exact time of the tide, the moon, the sun, the earth's rotation and some other parameters are taken into account. Pocket watch dimensions, high quality and precision made of solid brass. Comes with instructions.
