Description
Betel nut, black
The materials immersed in acrylic resin (e.g. nuts or cones) can be machined in a similar way to wood. Since the material is completely stabilised, it is highly resistant to weathering and ageing. The Lava Blank is machined using conventional wood machining tools, although overheating of the material should be avoided. Its uses include the manufacture of ballpoint pens, fountain pen holders or small woodturned items.
Stabilised Materials
In the stabilising process, the material is filled with a specially developed plastic in a high-pressure vacuum treatment. The stabilised material is extremely resistant, hardly absorbs any moisture and is thus very hygienic, washable and warp-free (no shrinking or expanding). You can work it with conventional tools without any problems.
