Description
With the »Lapland« knife kit, you can create your own Scandinavian hunting and outdoor knife featuring exceptional handle material. Blade with rustic forged skin made of 80CrV2 carbon steel, not rustproof. Hardened to 58 HRC. The blades still require polishing and sharpening. The knife handle consists of a bolster made of brass and bocote instead of the masur birch typically used in Scandinavian knives. Bocote is a decorative, South American hardwood with a light brown ground colour and dark brown veins. The stick tang or bolster and end cap must be individually adjusted for each knife. Epoxy adhesive, e.g. No. 450379, is recommended for glueing the handle materials.
Leather sheath
A sufficiently large piece of strong cowhide (120 x 250 mm) is included for making a customised leather sheath. The waxed linen thread by Fil Au Chinois adds an appealing colour accent.
