Life, nature, and hunting are nowhere as demanding, wild, and genuine as they are in the mountains. Mountain hunting not only requires excellent physical fitness and shooting skills from the huntress but also demands the very best equipment, with no room for compromise. Designed specifically to meet the needs of this demanding hunt, the »Säntis Lady« jacket was developed based on the classic Heinz Bauer hunting jacket »Beaver Creek«. It is crafted from the finest, breathable loden fabric (580 g/m), which has been so carefully milled that the jacket is nearly waterproof and windproof. This traditional material is completely silent and, thanks to its excellent moisture-wicking and breathability, provides an optimal body climate in any season. The jacket is adjustable in width via a drawstring. For increased comfort and ventilation during long treks or steep climbs, the jacket features side ventilation slits with zippers and an internal mesh lining. A practical cartridge pocket on the left sleeve allows for quick reloading. Functional pockets offer space for all your essential items such as maps, gloves, and anything else you might want within easy reach. Additionally, this model is equipped with two fleece-lined handwarmer pockets and an integrated hood within the collar for protection against wind and weather. Other details, such as a practical zip pocket under the central button placket, two interior pockets, two additional internal pen pockets, and the leather buttons with subtle logo embossing, elegantly highlight the attention to detail. The quilted leather patches on the shoulders and sleeves provide protection from wear and added comfort when carrying a backpack or rifle. These patches are made from tear-resistant, waterproof, membrane-laminated kangaroo leather. Compared to cowhide, kangaroo leather is nearly twice as strong in tensile strength and absorbs only half as much water, making it ideal for high-stress conditions. Kangaroo leather excels not only in functionality but also in terms of weight – it is significantly thinner and lighter than cowhide while maintaining the same stability. Kangaroo leather retains its strength where other types of leather require heavy abrasion and splitting, which greatly reduces their physical performance. The unique properties of kangaroo leather are further enhanced during the tanning process, resulting in a strong, lightweight, and naturally high-performance material. Kangaroos are not farmed but are hunted in Australia due to their high population numbers and reduced natural predators. The first-class craftsmanship and high-quality materials make the »Säntis Lady« jacket the epitome of the mountain hunting jacket – just that extra bit more perfect, comfortable, and luxurious.
For additional warmth and comfort, an optional lining is available, which can be attached to the jacket using pre-integrated zippers. The lining is available as practical quilted insulation or, upon request, as a fur lining. The jacket fits true to size. If you mainly plan to wear the jacket with the optional lining, we recommend ordering both the jacket and lining one size larger. This will ensure better mobility during the hunt.
