The Lined Mackinaw Wool Work Vest offers breathable warmth for the upper body, combining iconic, durable, and weather-resistant Mackinaw wool with high-pile Sherpa fleece, which traps heat similarly to a sheep’s fleece. Simply put, there is no warmer or more versatile vest.
This vest is made of the warmest Mackinaw wool, which has provided protection from cold and wet weather for over a century. Mackinaw wool is produced using the longest and strongest fibres, making it ideal for shielding against damp or freezing conditions. The exceptionally dense weave structure offers an impressive barrier against the wind, and withstands decades of wear and tear. This wool comes from a small herd of resilient sheep in the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada. Thanks to the complex fibre structure of wool, it is also incredibly low-maintenance – dried dirt can be easily brushed off without leaving marks.
The vest is additionally lined with high-pile Sherpa fleece, which retains even more body heat and ensures comfort even in the coldest temperatures. The rib-knit collar, made of a wool blend, offers extra warmth around the neck. The proven pocket arrangement, which has stood the test of time through generations of Filson work vests, includes handwarmer pockets, utility chest pockets, and an interior pocket.
