Chisels

Whether when working out wood joints or finishing joints, contours or chamfers - the result depends essentially on the quality and sharpness of the chisel. It has to be wear-resistant, easy-to-sharpen, comfortable to guide and feature a good balance. We distinguish between finishing chisels and striking chisels. Finishing chisels are ideal for light to moderate work. They are usually pounded by hand and have therefore no steel hoops at the handle end. Striking chisels, on the other hand, are driven by striking the tool (with a wooden mallet for Western chisels and an iron-headed hammer for Japanese chisels). With regard to the blade, they are therefore designed more sturdily, and have a hoop at the handle end.
