Laterally bevelled iron with a constant narrow edge towards the handle, reduces friction when chiselling and enables precise re-piercing of wooden joints such as tines without damaging edges.
A steel ring (similar to the Japanese Design) instead of a ferrule at the front of the handle characterises the DICTUM chisels. This solid ring creates a good contact surface for the fishing shoulder and therefore good power transmission from the handle to the blade. It also optimally protects the handle from splintering.
Unlike conventional sheet metal clamps, the solid rear clamp is not deformed during hammering. It can be screwed further onto the handle with an open-end tensioner after the handle has been worn down by the hammer blows.
