Jarrah wood is excellently suited for woodturning due to its density, rich colour, and fine grain. The shape of the fence post sections is square to triangular in cross-section. The pieces may have cracks, holes, knots and other weather-related defects.
Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata)
Jarrah is a hardwood that is Australia's most popular woodturning material. Typical for this high-quality eucalyptus wood is the intense colour, which varies from pink to orange to deep dark red and underlines the striking appearance of the wood. The fibre is usually quite straight, sometimes wavy and interlocked with a medium coarse but uniform texture. Density 810 kg/m³
