Enormous tool life and razor-sharp cutting edges: M42 steel was originally developed for metalworking and therefore cuts even exotic hardwoods or composite materials with ease. The steel owes its exceptionally long service life to the 10% addition of cobalt and the cryogenic treatment at 185 °C in the tempering process. This results in the formation of fine carbides, which have a lasting positive effect on tool life and sharpenability. Supplied with ready-to-use sharpening and black pickled ash handles. Approx. 65 HRC.
