Mufflon
Founded in Wahlstedt in 1984 by Andrea and Frank Schürmeyer, the company has been producing clothing and accessories made of pure new wool and merino wool under the brand name Mufflon since 1998. The process of fulling is thousands of years old. Mufflon clothes are amongst the very few outdoor products that are fully produced in Germany. The wool used by Schoeller comes from mulesing-free animal husbandry andis certified by bluesign® to meet high standards. This certification guarantees the highest possible absence of harmful substances, as well as the highest quality and functionality. Mufflon products are fulled with biodegradable additives only and without any chemicals. A major concern of the company is the environmental compatibility of their products as well as the efficient use of energy and water in their manufacture. For this reason, a considerable amount of the electricity required for production has been generated by the in-house photovoltaic system on the company building since mid-2011.
