Precise, innovative and easy to assemble
Conceived, designed and manufactured by Terry Gordon in Australia, the innovative and unique design of this multi-function vice is based on the exceptional ability of swivelling any object into the correct working position for safe machining. Since the jaw surface presses evenly on the workpiece without one side being clamped more than the other, work can be done with little pressure. This ensures precise and significant holding power with minimal crank force and limits user fatigue during prolonged use. The 360° rotation and free tilt adjustment offers different working heights and unlimited working angles as the rotation and tilt functions securely lock. A unique design feature is the hidden thread in a self-cleaning shaft. This self-cleaning system means that no dust or shavings can enter the thread or bearing surfaces, meaning that wear is kept to a minimum. The vice can hold objects up to 150 mm wide. This width is reduced to 120 mm when using the tilting plate. The jaw size is 160 mm x 340 mm. CNC-machined to the finest tolerances from brass and aluminium, hand assembled and tested, this vice will be a pleasure to use for years to come.
The tilting jaw (No. 715706) for holding odd, free-form shapes is available separately. The tilting jaw fits into a ½" hole in the rear jaw.
Assembly:
The vice is attached to the workbench from above with four screws (not included) in the precisely fitting recess. Then fix the locking device of the tilt function in the correct position from below with four screws (not included in the scope of delivery). For rough or slightly slanted workpieces, we recommend using a piece of leather or lining one of the jaw surfaces with cork, for example.
