Unlike an ordinary honing rod, the Accu-Burr™ carbide burnisher has three precision-ground V-shaped grooves. After the initial strokes on the prepared scraper edge, a precisely symmetrical burr is formed, which remains reproducible even after several passes. This not only makes the sharpening of scraper blades extremely efficient, but also provides feedback during sharpening - you can »feel« how the tool forms the burr. The flat V-groove with 5° is for fine material removal, with 10° for normal material removal and with 15° for coarser material removal, especially for stronger scraper blades. The burnisher is designed for sharpening any round scraper blade shapes and thicknesses from 0.25 to 2.5 mm as well as for spring steel and HSS with more than 65 HRC. For a smooth honing motion, we recommend applying a small drop of oil. Made in the USA.
