In 1948, Goldeck Textil GmbH was founded by August Mayer Sr. in Spittal an der Drau, Austria. Since then, the Austrian company, headquartered in Seeboden on Lake Millstatt (Carinthia), has established innovation as the key to its success. Under the leadership of Augustin Mayer, who took over the company in 1971, the development of a groundbreaking synthetic fibre became a long-term goal. This vision became a reality in 1982 when an in-house plant was established at the company's headquarters, giving birth to the revolutionary polyester fibre known as G-LOFT. G-LOFT revolutionized the insulation industry by combining the best qualities of down and synthetic fibres, providing durable insulation and optimal climate control. Its unique memory effect ensured that G-LOFT insulation always returned to its original warming shape after compression. The »Carinthia« label, under which Goldeck Textil GmbH produced G-LOFT insulated sleeping bags and later expanded its range to include outdoor and hunting apparel, was launched in 1983. Carinthia's hunting products continue to exclusively utilise high-quality South Tyrolean premium loden. The entire product range is exclusively manufactured in Europe, striking a perfect balance between traditional materials and technological advancement. The combination of loden fabric and G-LOFT insulation results in hunting garments that are low-noise, windproof, water-repellent, and resistant to dirt – making them ideal for the discerning hunter.
