Almond benzoin is an aromatic resin obtained from incisions in the bark of Siamese styrax trees. It is valued for its pleasantly warm, vanilla-like fragrance.
Traditionally, it is used as an additive in natural varnishes and oil finishes, where it enhances polishability and gloss. It also serves as a natural raw material in oils, varnishes and finishing blends, lending treated surfaces a warm, harmonious appearance.
Benzoin tincture in plant-based oils allows for particularly easy application while imparting a subtle, pleasant scent to the oil.
