Rabbit-skin glue is a particularly fine traditional hide glue known for its high purity and excellent working properties.
It is characterised by strong adhesive strength, good elasticity and consistent gel strength. Thanks to its fine structure, it is widely used in restoration, furniture making and veneering, as well as for preparing painting grounds (canvas or wood), making gesso grounds, and as an adhesive for gold leaf in water gilding. Like other animal glues, it is reversible and can be released again with heat and moisture.
