The Zen-Wu hairline straightedge is an indispensable tool for the precise inspection of flat surfaces using the light-gap method. It allows accurate checking of flatness and dimensional accuracy on wooden and metal plane soles.
Manufactured from a high-quality, stress-relieved titanium alloy, it ensures permanently straight reference edges and consistently repeatable measurements. The hairline straightedge undergoes three separate heat-treatment stages to fully eliminate internal stresses during material preparation, rough machining and final finishing.
The straightedge features a precision-ground knife-edge and grip profiles on both sides for safe and comfortable handling. A precisely positioned inspection recess enables accurate checking of plane soles with slightly protruding blades..
With an straightness tolerance of 0.007 mm and a surface roughness of Ra = 0.06 µm.
It is supplied in an elegant, hand-stitched leather sheath, providing excellent protection and keeping the tool always close at hand.
