Wooden Rake

Course details

You will learn:
  • Splitting the rake tines from hazel or rowan wood
  • Making the head and handle using hand planes
  • Shaping the tines with a scraper plane and a carving knife
  • Assembling the parts and smoothing the finished rake
Light, flexible, and made for rough terrain!
A traditional wooden rake is crafted following time-honoured techniques, ensuring years of reliable service thanks to its high-quality workmanship. Its lightweight construction makes it particularly easy to handle and offers clear advantages over metal rakes. The wood’s natural elasticity allows for greater working widths with minimal effort, while the tines neither tear nor catch – making the rake ideal even for uneven ground.
