Wiha® Magnetiser

Description

A robust cube to gauss or degauss screwdriver blades, tweezers, and similar tools made of steel. A magnetised tool head can reliably hold a screw or any small metal part. If magnetisation makes things awkward, e.g. for very small threaded bolts, it is also possible to degauss the tool head with this cube. You can also degauss accidentally magnetised knives that have become gaussed while sharpening the blade. Friction surface 27 x 14 mm.
Magnetisation:
The magnetic field in the lower part of the cube gausses iron and steel components. To gauss a tool, move it back and forth through the centre of the magnetic field (the gap in the cube).

Degaussing:
Gradually exposing a tool to the diminishing magnetic field in the upper part of the cube will degauss it. First perform a back and forth motion through the upper part of the gap (as viewed from the middle), before moving two steps further towards the edge.
