DICTUM Plus

Violin Making - Advanced Course

Course details

The objective of this course is to handcraft a complete violin from solid wood. For this purpose, the participants bring along the individual parts (front and back plates, half of the outline, neck) that we will finish during the course, working on one part per day. The neck can also be purchased at the workshop, if required.
The violin is not only one of the most sophisticated instruments for playing music on, manufacturing a violin is also a considerable challenge. A master instrument requires a minimum of 200 hours of work. A one-week course can therefore only afford you a few basic insights into the fascinating world of violin making.
