Course details

By making a tray you will practise the most important processes, including removing the wane and cutting a plank, trueing and planing to size, safe sawing of narrow workpieces, mitre cuts, cutting edges on a table router, and formatting boards. As well as practising on the machines, you will learn the theory, plus information about practical and useful accessories.
Many private workshops have them: final trimming saw or table saw, planer/thicknesser, table router and bandsaw. But in the professional sector, you can only use these potentially dangerous machines if you've completed a course that takes several days. And of course this is a good thing, as improper use can lead to serious accidents. Invest in your health! Learn how to avoid accidents by using the correct equipment and methods and how to work more precisely at the same time.

Instructor

Peter Lanz

While studying ethnology, the qualified cabinetmaker already worked as a set builder at the Munich TV studios. He was working as a freelance art carpenter in the Munich Gewerkehalle. For several years, he has worked as a consultant for DICTUM in courses dealing with Japanese wood joints.
