Three-legged Stool

Course details

In this course, you will learn how to build a traditional three-legged stool using straightforward, approachable techniques. The joints – round tenons fitted into drilled mortises – are simple to make and require only basic familiarity with hand tools. Most of the work is done with hand tools, though a few steps may be supported by machinery if needed. The seat is made from limewood, and the legs are shaped from ash.
This method of construction offers plenty of opportunity to develop your woodworking skills and leaves ample room for individual design variations. The underlying structure can be adapted for stools, chairs, tables or even workshop furniture. This course is ideal for anyone interested in creating timeless seating with simple, effective techniques.
