Planing and Joining

Course details

Super fine shavings and perfect surfaces

Planing, squaring, jointing and truing a rough-sawn board is the best exercise for learning how to work confidently with a plane and a saw. This course teaches you how to set up, sharpen and guide a plane correctly, as well as the step-by-step approach for the different tasks involved. Both metal planes and European wooden planes, as well as Japanese planes, will be explained and used. A small project helps deepen your understanding of both the tools and the material.
