Description
Exclusive Nigiri for daily use
This pair of elegant Nigiri scissors is hand-forged from one single piece of double-layered steel. The epoxy-resin coating is applied following a special procedure and then fused, until it becomes hard. This makes the scissors a timeless design tool for everyday use. Cutting layer made of Blue Paper Steel. Hardness 60 HRC, not rustproof. Comes with a kiri wood case.
Japanese Scissors (Basami & Nigiri) - precision in perfection
Traditional Japanese scissors, known as basami or, for particularly delicate work, nigiri scissors, combine superior quality, precise cutting and ergonomic design. Forged from a single piece, they are exceptionally sturdy, lightweight and durable. The innovative spring mechanism ensures that the scissors open automatically after each cut, allowing even longer tasks to be carried out without fatigue.
Their special shape makes them fit perfectly in the hand: just a light pressure from the thumb and index finger is enough to make a clean, controlled cut — ideal for delicate work.
Nigiri scissors are suitable for a wide range of applications. They are perfect for fine cutting work with paper and fabric, unpicking seams, or precisely trimming houseplants and bonsai. The name Nigiri is derived from the Japanese word »nigiru«, which means »to hold« or »grasp«, and refers to the particularly comfortable handling. Thanks to this combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern comfort, clean, controlled cuts can be achieved in every application.
