Leather Bag Making
Course details
In this course, you will make a full-leather bag (weekender or messenger bag). The design avoids stitching entirely; assembly is carried out exclusively using alternative joining techniques. The basic constructions presented leave plenty of scope for your own modifications.

- Explanation of the cutting templates and transferring them to the leather
- Cutting the material with a utility knife and leather knife, and punching the holes
- Edge finishing and final trimming of all components
- Making the straps and closures
- Introducing and fitting the hardware
- Optional: making a carry handle
- Assembly, final corrections to the bag edges and finishing the bag

Instructor
Peter Lanz
While studying ethnology, the qualified cabinetmaker already worked as a set builder at the Munich TV studios. He was working as a freelance art carpenter in the Munich Gewerkehalle. For several years, he has worked as a consultant for DICTUM in courses dealing with Japanese wood joints.
