»Laurin« Knife Making Kit, Chrome Steel, Blade Length 85 mm

Description

With the »Laurin« knife kit, you can create your own Scandinavian hunting and outdoor knife. The Finnish blade made of rustproof X50CrMoV15 steel is hardened to 58 HRC. The blades still require polishing and sharpening. The knife handle consists of a bolster made of nickel, a buffalo horn roll as a decorative separating element, and masur birch wood, which is typical of Scandinavian knives. Epoxy adhesive, e.g. No. 450379, is recommended for glueing the handle materials.

Leather sheath
A sufficiently large piece of strong buffalo leather (120 x 250 mm) is included for making a customised leather sheath. The waxed linen thread by Fil Au Chinois adds an appealing colour accent.
The bevel on the stick tang needs to be extended to allow the bolster to be slid on.

Properties

Bevel: Pre-ground, not sharpened
Blade structure: Monosteel
Handle material: Masur birch
