»Kyougi« Real Wood Paper, Notepad, 120 x 180 mm

Description

Japanese notepad with paper-thin pine sheets with characteristic wood grain, natural texture and the unique scent of pine wood. According to ancient tradition, Kyougi paper is thinly planed by hand with sharp plane blades from one single block. Each notepad is made from a single piece of Akamatsu pine (Japanese red pine), evident in the continuous pattern of annual rings from sheet to sheet.
Kyougi paper is natural in colour and texture, semi-transparent, and has a firm, silky-smooth surface. It is excellent for drawing, printing, and calligraphy, as it absorbs ink and paint without bleeding.

Originally, Kyougi was also used in Japan for packaging and presenting food. The natural antimicrobial properties of the wood played an important role, preserving food and extending its shelf life.

Tip: Soaking in hot water softens the lignin contained in the wood. This allows the thin Kyougi paper to be bent into any shape.
  • Unique wood grain on each sheet - makes every note or drawing special
  • Real wood paper made from Japanese red pine, biodegradable
  • Versatile applications: notes, drawing, printing, calligraphy, crafts
  • Cardboard cover
  • Weight 110 g
As with most natural materials, slight variations in colour, texture and other properties may occur. Made in Japan.
