Very high quality and robust, vegetable tanned leather from German cattle. Made in Germany. The offered thicknesses are popular for upholstery purposes and perfect for axe and knife sheaths.
Vegetable tanning
Vegetable tanned leather is tanned using plant-derived tanning agents. Vegetable tanned leathers do not contain any harmful substances and are popular in particular with people with chrome allergies. Vegetable tanning agents include oak and pine bark, quebracho, tara husks, olive leaves, rhubarb root and mimosa bark. The tanning process is triggered by the tannins released during tanning.
