Der ideale Schnittwinkel liegt - je nachdem, ob mit Weich- oder Hartholz gearbeitet wird - zwischen 20° und 27°. Je spitzer der Winkel, desto besser schneidet das Messer. Je stumpfer der Winkel, desto länger ist die Standzeit z. B. in Hartholz. Die DICTUM Schnitzmesser liegen selbst nach einem Mikrofasenschliff (durch den Anwender) noch im optimalen Schnittwinkelbereich.
