The unique SpheroPlane mills perfect spherical wooden bowls or balls, something that was previously only possible with a lathe.
The SpheroPlane attachment mounts onto the Arbortech Power Carving Unit (No. 715608) or a 115/125 mm angle grinder. It features an adjustable working radius, making both small and large projects possible.
The SpheroPlane’s all-around protection system enables precise adjustments, reduces kickback, and provides exceptional control.
The SpheroPlane is designed from durable materials. Precisely machined aluminium and highly developed plastic set a new standard for durability and wear resistance. The most demanding carving tasks are handled by rotatable and replaceable carbide cutting edges, ensuring exceptional performance and longevity.
The SpheroPlane, as an all-in-one milling and carving tool, transitions quickly and effortlessly from milling to sanding. Material removal is adjusted via the fine-tuning collar to create the perfect bowl or sphere. Once the workpiece’s contour is complete, the included sanding pad can be used to finish the surface.

An excellent addition for wood turners:
Every woodturner knows the challenge of reaching the limits imposed by the low centre height of a smaller lathe. Large projects, such as wooden bowls or spheres, often cannot be done without an expensive outboard turning setup, ball turning device or a larger lathe. With the SpheroPlane, a cost-effective alternative to large XL lathes, you can produce wooden spheres and bowls of unlimited size. For wooden spheres, a minimum diameter of 90 mm should be observed.
