This Harris Tweed is a grey herringbone fabric with fine red and blue overcheck. It is made of virgin wool, which is dyed, spun and woven by hand in the Outer Hebrides, the remote western Islands of Scotland. The two-button men's jacket with side vents features design details such as breast welt pocket, three diagonal flap pockets, dark red collar felt, brown leather buttons and leather patches on the sleeves. Two inside pockets are worked of the outer fabric into the red viscose lining, one of which can be closed with a button. Fabric weight: 380 g/rm Isolation, wild nature and humble living conditions often encourage the creation of exceptional handicraft products. In the Outer Hebrides, 60 km off the west coast of Scotland, Harris Tweeds are still woven from locally dyed pure virgin wool yarns on handlooms as a cottage industry and thus in a narrow fabric width. The wool fibres are dyed and mixed with up to eight colours before spinning is started. Thus the incomparable play of colours of Harris Tweeds is already noticeable in the mottled yarn.
