The hat is ideal for drive hunts on freezing cold winter days. It is made in the classic ushanka style. »Ushanka« literally means »hat with earflaps«, while the Russian word »shapka« simply means »hat«. The turned-up forehead area, as well as the neck and ear flaps, are made of locally hunted sheared red fox fur. The loden by traditional weaving mill Gebr. Mehler provides optimum protection in cold weather, with the bright orange colour ensuring optimum visibility when hunting. The ear flaps can be secured under the chin or above the head with a strap. The cap has a quilted lining.

At this point, we would like to emphasise that our furs do not come from fur farms or the like, but from locally hunted animals. In terms of sustainability, the pelts of only predatory mammal are used, which are hunted to protect small game and support biodiversity. Thus, the use of these skins serves as a practical and sustainable use of natural resources.
