Description
Deluxe Edition
This book is the first English translation of the 18th century masterpiece »L'art du Menuisier« by André-Jacob Roubo. »Roubo on Furniture« is full of insights into wood processing and furniture making that, even nowadays, are hard or impossible to find. Contrary to many authors of the 18th century, Roubo was a traditionally trained, practising cabinetmaker. He interviewed craftsmen to gain deeper insights into their practices. He studied drawing (almost every illustration in this book was drawn by him) to be able to explain everything accurately in every detail. No matter what kind of woodworking you have learned, »Roubo on Furniture« will expand your knowledge on how to build furniture aesthetically.
