This safari sports jacket in a slim, two-button style is made of first-class Irish linen by Spence Bryson. It is of a quality that is usually appreciated by renowned tailors. For a sporty cut with four bellow pockets with buttoned flaps, the back part is worked with an inserted waist belt and two side vents. The sleeve lining is made of viscose and thus offers good wearing comfort. The cooling properties of the linen come into their own in the unlined jacket. Two buttoned inside pockets are worked into the wide outer fabric layers. The elaborate hand-stitched topstitching on lapels, edges, flaps and dividing seams emphasise the linen structure full of character.The tradition of manufacturing linen, which in Ireland dates back to the 17th century, is continued today by only a few remaining weavers, such as Spence Bryson who belong to the Ulster Weavers group. The high quality of Irish linen has always been particularly appreciated. Since there is no longer any local cultivation, the raw material used is mainly first-class, long-fibre flax from Belgium or northern France. The fibres are very homogeneous and thus, in addition to an elegant shine, a high tensile strength and durability are achieved.
