After an introduction to the intarsia techniques, you will saw small, precisely fitting solid intarsia blocks (10 x 10 cm) from approx. 5 mm thick light and dark wood using a scroll saw. Then you will set them into a cutting board with a chisel. Students can choose their favourite motif from different ornamentations provided.
You will learn how to:
  • Use a scroll saw
  • Expertly glue thick veneers
  • Embed the ornamentation into a solid base board
  • Flush the inlay
  • Treat the surface with oil
You can also use the intarsia blocks as decorations on furniture, for example, and on other wooden surfaces in the house and garden.
