Subsequent to his qualification as a turner at Berufsfachschule für das Holz und Elfenbein verarbeitende Handwerk (qualification college for wood and ivory handicrafts) in Michelstadt, Sebastian Mak completed a training as a wickerwork designer at Berufsfachschule für Flechtwerkgestaltung (qualification college for wickerwork) in Lichtenfels. Afterwards, he went to Nature and Wilderness School for Traditional Boat Building and Wickerwork in Norway. In Switzerland, he took care of mentally disabled persons, instructing them to realize wickerwork projects.
