Grit 400, coarse synthetic Nagura stone. Ideal for sharpening stones with a grit of 400 or lower.
The Nagura is an optional stone that creates slurry on the sharpening stone. A Nagura ensures that the abrasive particles in the sharpening stone are released more easily and can also be used to give a coarser sharpening stone a finer finish. However, a Nagura not only produces slurry, it is also ideal for use after sharpening, as it is very good for cleaning the stone and removing metal particles that can stick to the sharpening stone and rust. Naniwa's synthetic Naguras are made from aluminium oxide.
The stones should be briefly immersed in water before use, but not constantly stored in water.
Generally suitable for all waterstones.
