Particularly flexible blade, without setting, for flush and surface-friendly cutting of dowels, wooden nails and tenons. Also suitable for setting up Japanese planes (Kanna). The fine, unset teeth ensure clean and smooth cutting surfaces in the grooves for the plane blade.

Expert saws

From the master workshop, for the experienced user

Beautifully shaped saws, handmade and light as a feather - they lie almost weightlessly in the hand. Minimal cutting forces, fine kerfs and a precise cutting course make these saws the tools of choice for demanding wood joints. The lightweight kiri wood handles bear discreetly engraved symbols indicating the cutting direction. For over three generations, the »Mitsukawa« master smithy has been perfecting traditional craftsmanship to make these special saws:

Blades made of SK-4 steel (61 HRC) for a long service life; we recommend protecting the blade from corrosion with camellia oil after use
Each saw is inspected and hand-engraved by the master smith

Through-hardened blade:

Allows resharpening by hand
If used and cared for properly, these saws will last a lifetime

Saw blades are scraped by hand over the entire width until the optimum wall thickness is achieved:
